Recycle your old sweetie wrappers in to a cute bracelet. Here's a project that I use to do back in high school to pass the time. The best part is that you get to munch loads of sweets to do it.
Directions:
Â
1. Take an old sweetie or gum wrapper.
2. Fold the wrapper in half length ways and then unfold it again.
3. Fold the edges in, so that the meet in the middle.
4. Fold the wrapper in half again, with the edges tucked in, length ways and the unfold.
6. Repeat the previous steps and fold the edges in to the middle, length ways.
7. Fold it in half again.
8. Now fold in half width ways and then unfold.
9. Fold the edges in so that the meet in the middle.
10. Make a few of these.
11. Slip the two edge bit on one folded wrapper through the holes formed by the two edges on the second folded wrapper.
12. Take a third folded wrapper and slip it through the holes from by the edge bits on the second folded wrapper.
13. Continue this with more and more folded wrappers, keep an eye on the pattern that is being formed so that you know which side to place the next folded wrapper in at.
14. Make a strip long enough to fit around your wrist, you could make it really big and then you could simply wear it like a bangle.
15. Pierce holes through the folded wrappers at both ends of the strip.
16. Slip a jump ring and jewellery clasp through one end.
17. Slip two more jump rings through the other end and you're done.
